Back to Work!
It's Fall, and the 'back to school' rush has settled into the wait for snow and Halloween. There continues to be an active interchange of Yukon artists coming and going, most recently with Hungry Hill just home from Europe and with Gordie Tentrees set to maintain our presence there as well as Kate Weekes. See "Pondhoppers", below.
Kyle Cashen has been doing a great job at the Resource Centre! He compiled a comprehensive catalogue of the music industry publications and resource tools we keep on hand, and has been designing a hugely comprehensive proposal for workshops that the membership is bound to find more than useful.
His 'special mission' remains: Bring more youth involvement to MusicYukon.

Touring Schedule Grows Too Big to Fit!
Round about the middle of May it occurred to MusicYukon that it could do even more to track statistics on its membership, so a "Master Giglist" was created. It ain't perfect, it can only depend on what members remember to submit and on what we can glean from independent postings.
Even so, here is what collective information gathering yields in information:
- In just the first eighty days, Yukon acts/artists posted 192 upcoming gigs;
- They are out of the Yukon (107) more than they stay home (85);
- Gigs are listed by 41 discrete acts/artists;
- "Away", that is 98 venues played in 78 cities in nine countries.
Our tour schedule is so big it will not fit this page. If you would like a copy of all the gigs -- who, where and when -- then please send us a request and we'll be happy to forward it to you!
And members, if you have tour dates please submit them to us for posting in our member newsletters and national press releases!
Most Recent Pondhoppers...
Hungry Hill is just home from overseas after their first ever tour of Ireland and the UK - 6 weeks.
It's been a great year for the band as they hit most provinces in Canada including a nice swing into the Maritimes, showcased in SxSW in Austin Texas, toured elsewhere in the US and then headed across the pond!
They arrive home just about the same time Gordie Tentrees is gearing up for a 26-venue tour of Europe opening for Fred Eaglesmith.
Kate Weekes is headed for Ireland this month as well, but infirmed (sic) sources say it's largely more vacation than vocation and there might be more jigging than gigging.
